Q. What kind of products or services does your company offer for radio broadcasters?
A. AEQ offers a wide array of products. Our Telco products run from high-performance digital telephone hybrids to ISDN, POTS and IP stationary and portable codec units. AEQ also offers a versatile multicodec chassis suitable for a variable mix of connections such as IP, POTS and ISDN lines; a multichannel talk-radio conference system that runs on ISDN, POTS and IP connections; digital and analog broadcast consoles apt for the large and low-end market segments; a scalable digital audio router with a modular design that can fit the needs of multiple settings; and a digital field recorder the size of a mobile phone with a built-in editor.
Q. What’s new that you will show at NAB2007 and that radio broadcasters should look for there?
A. The main NAB2007 highlight from AEQ will be the PHOENIX codec. With its slick design, internal router and multiple telecommunication options it will enhance the audio codec offering for all broadcasters.
The other product to look for at AEQ is the ARENA Digital console and the BC-2000D audio router. Also available will be the DA 26 distribution amplifier, [with] either one stereo input by six stereo outputs or 1 mono input by 12 mono outputs. It offers transformer-balanced I/O to insure clean audio from external interferences.
Q. How is your new product offering different from what’s available on the market?
A. AEQ offers great value to its customers; reliable products and extra features at very competitive prices. One example of this is the router-based ARENA digital console with programmable keys, and many dynamic offerings such as EQ, noise gates, delay and reverb, low and high pass filters, and limiter all available on each fader. Other nice features are built-in cue speakers and page swap, which add a substantial savings to the user.
The PHOENIX IP AND POTS codec has a built-in programmable router so the user can route any input to any output; it is a summing and distributing router. It has a superb built-in battery system and external power supply. This can be supplemented by an external 12 V battery pack providing the user with the longest battery cycle in the industry for similar devices. The studio companion of the portable unit is a rackmountable unit in two versions. A stationary unit capable of communicating with one remote portable unit, and a multicodec chassis that can hold 10 boards that communicate with multiple field units IP, POTS, 3G or ISDN.
Q. Where are you based, and how many employees do you have? Anything else we should know about your company?
